Starts of the Week: Week 5

Quarterbacks

Kyler Murray vs. New York

This one is pretty simple. Kyler gets to play against the worst team in the league, and now the Jets won’t have starting quarterback Sam Darnold on the field. The Cardinals should be up early, and with Murray’s rushing upside he won’t lose fantasy points cause of game script. Murray is my pick to finish as the overall QB1 this week.

Daniel Jones vs. Dallas

Dallas has one of the worst defenses in the league through the first four weeks of the season. So that in itself should give Jones plenty of upside this week. He is due for a break out game, with the first quarter of the season having him as the overall QB30. The Giants should be down early in this game, giving Jones plenty of opportunity to have to sling the ball to stay competitive.

Running Backs

James Robinson vs. Houston

Robinson has been a great surprise for fantasy owners this season. He was able to prove last week he doesn’t need a touchdown to give you a solid fantasy week. For week five he has a great matchup against a Houston team that forces teams to beat them with the running game. Robinson should be able to find the end zone this week, with another 100 yard’s in total offense.

Antonio Gibson vs. Los Angeles

Kyle Allen will be the starting quarterback for Washington this week. When Allen started for Carolina last season, he peppered running back Christian McCaffrey with targets every game. Oh, and he has the same head coach again in Ron Rivera. This should give Gibson plenty opportunity’s to get receptions and end zone usage, especially in a game they should be trailing in.

Wide Receivers

Marquise Brown vs. Cincinnati

Brown is due for a big game soon, and this matchup against Cincinnati gives him a great chance to do that this week. Cincy’s defense is giving up 36.05 fantasy points to opposing wide receivers so far this season. With the Bengals needing to stack the box to try and stop the Ravens run game, that will give Brown plenty of one-on-one chances. He should be able to take advantage of those chances, and we could see a 100 yard and a score game from Hollywood this week.

D.J. Moore vs. Atlanta

Moore has been very disappointing so far this season. But this is the matchup where he can have a big game. The Falcons are giving up 41.88 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. In a game that should be a shootout, this gives Moore a great opportunity to a great game.

Tight Ends

Dalton Schultz vs. New York

Picking my tight ends starts of the week is always the hardest out of all the positions. It’s more about picking who will score one (or more) touchdowns on a given week. Schultz has a great chance to score a big week against the Giants. The Cowboys should be able to put decent points on the scoreboard against New York, and I expect Schultz to real in at least one of those touchdowns.
